Lexicon 8 channel analog bypass input

New modification available to add an 8 channel analog bypass to your Lexicon DC-1, DC-2 and MC-1 processor.

The biggest weakness of the DC-1, DC-2 and MC-1 family is the inability to listen to the next generation high resolution multi-channel formats in their full resolution. This includes SACD, DVD-A, DD+, Dolby TrueHD and DTS MasterHD, PCM, etc..etc.. If you player has a 6/8 channel analog output then anything that the player can output over those analog outputs can be listened to through the 8 channel analog bypass upgrade. DC-1, DC-2 and MC-1s do not have multi-channel analog inputs as delivered from the factory.

With this modification you can now listen to the new high resolution multi-channel audio formats (DVD-A, SACD, Dolby Digital TrueHD..etc..) through your Lexicon DC-1,DC-2 and MC-1.

Every day usage is the same as it always was. For setup you configure one input, in the regular Input Setup menus, as being the multi-channel analog bypass and then simply select that input any time you want to listen to the multi-channel analog bypass input.

Volume, mute, speaker levels and the balance and fader controls are available in the analog bypass. All other processing is of course bypassed.

4 pairs of analog inputs on the rear of your Lexicon have been used as the 8 channel analog input. They are the VCR1, VCR2, VDisc and TV analog inputs on the rear panel.

1. VCR1/VCR becomes the Front L/R Input

2. VCR2/DVD becomes the Center/Sub input

3. V-Disc becomes the Side L/R Input

4. TV becomes the Rear L/R input

Looking at the unit from the rear you will see that the 8 channel analog input is laid out in the same manor as the main zone outputs. The front panel VCR1/VCR, VCR2/DVD, V-Disc and TV inputs may still be used for digital sources. This is much like the MC-4, MC-8 and MC-12 in that when the multichannel analog input is configured some of the regular stereo analog inputs get dedicated to the multichannel input.

The cost of the upgrade installed in your Lexicon is $175 plus $25 for return shipping and handling.
